Intro

Hello. I am Justin H. Kim.. I study Computer Science at University of California, Berkeley. This website serves to demonstrate my joy and passion in Computer Science. My interested areas are Security, Algorithms, Data, Cloud, Artificial Intelligence. Feel free to contact me for any questions or opportunities!

Work

Workday

Software Development Engineer Intern

- Implemented a command named Fuji using bash and Java that takes in large data files in CSV, TSV, or JSON format to put into NoSQL database and efficiently queries the data. Incorporated abstractions to make commands simpler for users to use compared to pre-existing commands.
- Implemented special commands that applies user's aggregation/modification functions to the database table.

Vyrill

Software Development Engineer Intern

- Assisted full-time engineer to design and implemented the Front-End frameworks of Vyrill using jQuery and Javascript.
- Utilized d3.js to implement data visualization softwares.

Educational Technology Services @ Berkeley

Student Technology Consultant

- Served as a front-line computer consultant to support the Berkeley campus community in general access and troubleshoot classroom technology issues reported by instructors.
- Served as a shift supervisor since May 2016 to manage and evaluate other student technology consultants. Particiated in weekly meetings to report feedbacks given and project statuses as well as pitch ideas towards workforce development.

UC Berkeley CS61B

Lab Assistant

- Served as a Fall 2015 lab assistant in Data Structures and Advanced Programming course. Assisted students in assignments or general questions during Office Hours and Lab sections.

Experience

GW x Intern 2017 Hackathon

Workday Summer 2017

- Created a slack-bot named Poopday with team of 5 members. Utilized raspberry pi 3 with circuits to detect the door locks status from bathroom stalls and connected them to slack servers to allow workday employees to know which bathroom stalls are open in Workday buildings (on every floors) once prompted.

Cal Hacks 4.0

October 6th 2017 - October 8th 2017

- Created a website called Broker that crawls through multiple sources and extracts data from stock articles to have easy access to all the data and a way to visualize it using graphs beyond the stock trends.
